Use it as a spiritual opportunity!
Every time an impulse of that kind, such as eating a donut, come
Don’t Obey it immediately but delay. Let’s say 3 minutes. Introduce just a time gap.
Observe the impulse. Observe this energy form as a gremlin. Feel it. Say, I am going to observe you.
Be vigilant and present to be aware of rationalization thoughts.
Just observe and apply awareness to it. You can add 2 or 3 minutes to eat. We don’t know what happens after that. If the impulse got dormant or not. Even if you can’t withstand and eat that donut, at least you did turn the event into a spiritual practice, namely present moment awareness. You observed it. So, as you shined the light of consciousness on it, the possibility of transformation is also there. So to say, you don’t kill the frog but kiss it and leading the frog to turn into a prince.
The time gap gets longer, then you may realize that the energy behind the impulse weakens and finally subsides. In the end, you have transmuted a destructive energy entity to PRESENCE.
